Epic Semi to Showcase Contrail AIX for Agentic and Sovereign AI at AI Infra Summit 2026

SANTA CLARA, Calif., [Sep 1st 2026] - Epic Semi will participate in AI Infra Summit 2026, September 15-17th at the Santa Clara Convention Center, where the company will demonstrate Contrail AIX and contribute to industry discussions on efficient inference, agentic AI and sovereign AI infrastructure.

At Booth #1055 and across two speaking and demonstration sessions, Epic Semi will present its view that the next infrastructure challenge is moving from training models to executing intelligent systems continuously, efficiently and with greater architectural control. Contrail AIX is the company's open RISC-V AI Execution Platform designed around that transition.

Epic Semi's summit program is centered on technology demonstration and industry dialogue, giving infrastructure leaders a practical view of how open RISC-V compute can support the transition to agentic and sovereign AI.

Contrail AIX for the AI Execution Era

AI infrastructure has been shaped by the requirements of model training. Agentic AI changes the balance. Production systems must coordinate agents, retrieve enterprise knowledge, manage memory and state, call external tools, reason across multiple steps, execute workflows and serve models - often within the same application loop.

These workloads require more than accelerator throughput alone. The Contrail AIX architecture combines:

• 16 integrated RISC-V AI acceleration cores supporting up to 150 TOPS of AI processing

• An RVA23-compatible architecture with DDR5 memory, PCIe Gen5 connectivity and CXL memory expansion

• Hardware virtualization and platform capabilities designed for enterprise security and reliability

The resulting platform is intended for AI inference, reasoning, retrieval-augmented generation, agent orchestration and other cloud-native AI services across cloud, edge, enterprise and sovereign deployments.

Open Foundations for Sovereign AI

Sovereign AI requires more than control of data and models. It also requires durable choices across compute architecture, software, deployment location, operations and long-term infrastructure roadmaps. As countries, public-sector organizations, cloud providers and enterprises build strategic AI capacity, open computing foundations can provide greater transparency, flexibility and control.

Built on RISC-V, Contrail AIX is designed to reduce dependence on closed, single-vendor architectures while supporting customization and ecosystem diversity. Developers can work with familiar open technologies including Qwen, LLAMA, DeepSeek, KIMI, Ubuntu, KVM, QEMU, Kubernetes, Docker, LLVM, GCC, MLIR, IREE, Ceph and SPDK.

This open approach aligns agentic AI execution with the priorities of sovereign AI: infrastructure choice, local control, software portability and the ability to evolve deployments as national, industry and workload requirements change.

Live demonstration: "Introducing the World's First RVA23-Based RISC-V AI Execution Platform." Jessica Dai, Field Application Engineer at Epic Semi, will demonstrate quantized multi-billion-parameter large language models running natively on Contrail AIX using llama.cpp and Ollama.
