PhoScale Brings Vertically Integrated 400G/800G/1.6T Optics to AI Infra Summit 2026

A new brand, backed by a 2010-founded optical manufacturer: PhoScale builds its own silicon photonics and ships from a California warehouse — a combination it argues is what AI cluster schedules actually need.

ONTARIO, Calif. — PhoScale will exhibit at AI Infra Summit 2026, September 15–17 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

Every GPU cluster is wired together by optics, and the schedule for standing one up is usually set by whether those optics arrive. PhoScale, which supplies 400G, 800G and 1.6T optical transceivers to AI infrastructure builders, system integrators and channel partners, will show its full product line at AI Infra Summit 2026 in Santa Clara.

The brand is new; the manufacturing behind it is not. PhoScale was launched to point the capability of an optical interconnect group founded in 2010 — its silicon photonics platform, its automated production lines, its test capacity — at a single market, and to put supply for that market on the ground in North America. Visitors will find the company in the summit's Start Up Zone for that reason.

The argument is a narrow one: in a market where lead times move more money than unit price, the supplier that controls both the photonics and the last mile into a US loading dock is the one worth talking to.

Built in-house, from the chip up

The group designs its own photonic integrated circuits and shares the platform across the entire PhoScale portfolio, rather than sourcing optical engines from third parties. Modules are assembled on a fully automated chip-on-board line running 300,000 units a month inside a 53,000 m² smart factory — with SMD placement accuracy of ≤1.5 μm @ 3σ, lens coupling repeatability of ±50 nm, and 99.99% gold wire bonding.

That vertical integration shows up in the specifications. PhoScale's 200G/lane series pairs in-house silicon photonics with 3 nm DSP platforms from Broadcom and Marvell, delivering 800G at 16 W and 1.6T at 25 W, with a low BER error floor of 1E-10 and receiver sensitivity of −5.5 dBm at pre-FEC BER 1E-6. The linear-drive (LPO) 800G variant removes DSP electrical shaping altogether for roughly 40% lower power.

Proven at cluster scale

The modules have been shipping for years. Optics from these lines have gone into production RoCE and InfiniBand fabrics at hyperscale — including a single spine-leaf build that consumed more than 110,000 modules across 800G and 400G. Interoperability is validated on live platforms, not just in datasheets: 24-hour PRBS-31 testing against NVIDIA Quantum QM9790 switches and ConnectX-7 NICs, plus CMIS 2.0–5.3 support and coding for Generic MSA, NVIDIA, Cisco, Arista and Juniper. Products carry ISO 9001:2015, CE, FCC, RoHS and FDA certification.

The delivery half of the problem

Manufacturing capability is only useful if the modules land on time. PhoScale holds North American inventory in its Ontario, California warehouse and ships DDP — clearing customs itself, so buyers deal with a domestic delivery rather than an import.

Every unit is tested individually before it ships, and every shipment includes the test report and a power-on video. Platform coding is done to order. Modules carry a lifetime warranty with advance replacement, so a failed link is resolved by a unit already in transit rather than an RMA queue.

Operating philosophy: fewer SKUs, more certainty

PhoScale does not try to be a full-catalog optics distributor. The line-up is deliberately narrow — current-generation rates in the form factors AI clusters actually deploy — on the view that a focused portfolio is what makes real volume availability, honest lead times and locked capacity possible in the first place.

Three commitments follow from that:

  • Manufacturer-direct. No layers between the factory and the buyer, which is what makes factory pricing and capacity commitments something PhoScale can put in writing.
  • Evidence over assurance. Test reports, power-on videos and interoperability test data ship with the product. Claims about a module should be checkable before it goes into a rack.
  • Long-term channel relationships. Bulk pricing tiers, project registration and protection, priority allocation and sales support for resellers, integrators and GPU hosting providers building repeatable business — not one-off transactions.
