Two Black Women Are Reimagining Intelligence Through an Integrated Neuro-Inclusive Technology Ecosystem

The July 15 debut of

Nia’s World marks the next public milestone in the expansion of the CFV Connect Neuro-Inclusive Intelligence System—an interconnected platform spanning K–12 education, educational gaming, literacy innovation, and workplace solutions.

ATLANTA, Ga. — What if intelligence systems were designed to adapt to people instead of expecting people to adapt to rigid systems?

That question has become the driving force behind the work of Bathsheba Smithen, Founder and CEO of Cage Free Voices, and Dr. Jacqui Virgil, Executive Partner and Director of Schools. Together, the two innovators are building what they believe is a new model for learning and human development: the CFV Connect Neuro-Inclusive Intelligence System, an expanding ecosystem of connected technologies that supports diverse ways of thinking, learning, communicating, and solving problems across education and the workplace.

While the public will experience the next milestone on July 15, 2026, with the release of Nia’s World, the announcement is about far more than the introduction of an educational game. It represents the continued expansion of an integrated intelligence ecosystem that brings together educational gaming, literacy development, instructional technology, personalized learning, and organizational innovation under a single vision.

“We’re not building isolated apps,” said Smithen. “We’re building an intelligence ecosystem. Every platform is designed to work together to recognize that people learn differently, think differently, and demonstrate intelligence in different ways. Our goal is to create systems that meet people where they are and empower them to grow.”

At the center of that ecosystem is CFV Connect, the digital platform that connects the organization’s suite of neuro-inclusive technologies and learning experiences. Through CFV Connect, learners, families, educators, schools, and organizations can access a growing portfolio of tools designed to support individualized learning and collaboration.

Among those innovations is Nia’s World, an immersive educational experience for learners across Kindergarten through Grade 12. Rather than separating academic subjects into isolated experiences, Nia’s World integrates exploration, literacy, mathematics, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving within an interactive environment designed to encourage curiosity and sustained engagement.

The ecosystem also includes WriteMoveABC, an instructional writing platform based on educational concepts developed by Dr. Jacqui Virgil to strengthen handwriting and early writing development; C.H.A.P.S. Video Reading Log, which encourages reading engagement and accountability through video-based learning reflections; and ClassConnectNow, a connected learning platform designed to strengthen communication and collaboration between educators, learners, and families. Smithen led the design and development of these digital platforms, translating educational concepts into scalable technology solutions that function as part of the broader CFV Connect ecosystem.

Beyond K–12 education, Cage Free Voices is extending the same neuro-inclusive principles into organizational settings through corporate intelligence platforms that help employers better understand cognitive diversity, create more inclusive work environments, and leverage the strengths of individuals with different ways of thinking, learning, and communicating. The organization believes neuro-inclusion is not simply an educational issue—it is a workforce, leadership, and innovation imperative.

The work also represents a significant milestone within the technology industry itself. Black women remain substantially underrepresented in both game development and educational technology leadership. Rather than entering these fields with a single application or product, Smithen and Dr. Virgil are introducing an interconnected technology ecosystem designed to influence how schools, organizations, and communities think about intelligence, learning, and human potential.

“Our vision has always extended beyond the classroom,” said Dr. Virgil. “Every individual deserves opportunities to learn in ways that reflect how they naturally process information and engage with the world. Whether we’re supporting a young learner developing foundational literacy skills or helping organizations better understand neurodiversity within their workforce, our mission remains the same: to create environments where people can thrive.”

As conversations surrounding artificial intelligence, personalized learning, workforce readiness, and educational transformation continue to evolve, Cage Free Voices believes the future requires systems that recognize human diversity as a strength rather than a barrier. The CFV Connect Neuro-Inclusive Intelligence System reflects that philosophy by bringing together education, technology, interactive media, and intelligent design into one connected framework.

The July 15 milestone is not the conclusion of that vision, but the next chapter in a broader movement to reshape how intelligence is recognized, nurtured, and supported across every stage of life.
