Andrew Wheeler
Andrew Wheeler is Deputy CTO and Director of HPE Labs at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he helps shape and execute the company’s technology strategy, working across HPE’s business groups to accelerate strategic initiatives, strengthen cross-company alignment, and advance priorities including AI adoption and governance as well as product security.
In his combined roles, Andrew oversees research and advanced development in AI, hybrid cloud, security, sustainability, networking, systems architecture, and quantum and neuromorphic computing. As an HPE Fellow, he plays a central role in leading and developing HPE's technical community. Andrew is also an active voice in shaping public policy on the future of computing. He has engaged with members of Congress and other policymakers on HPC, AI, and quantum computing, highlighting how sustained investment in these technologies, together with strong public-private partnerships, can advance computing beyond today's high-performance systems, accelerate scientific discovery, and strengthen national security and competitiveness.
Earlier in his career, Andrew held Chief Technologist and lead architect positions across several HPE business groups, where he contributed to innovations in CPU and VLSI design, real-time operating systems, high performance computing, hyperconverged solutions, and mission-critical systems.
