Bill Flaherty

Bill Flaherty is the Senior Director of Customer Solutions for the Stack Forging Thermal Solutions team at Johnson Controls. Prior to being acquired by Johnson Controls, Bill served as Chief Product Officer at Alloy Enterprises. He has over 15 years of experience building hardware and teams at the intersection of physics and engineering. Bill received a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois-Urbana, in advanced designs for fluid dynamics and heat transfer in hypersonic vehicles. He started his career at GE Aviation, then spent six years at MIT Lincoln Labs leading teams developing advanced laser, communication, and sensing technologies. Before Alloy, he was with a boutique engineering consulting firm where he was embedded into client organizations in multiple roles, from Chief Engineer to CTO. This included five different early-stage startups working on a breadth of products from industrial to consumer goods.
