Derek is a Principal at Menlo Ventures, focused on early-stage investments across AI and cloud infrastructure, including Anthropic, Fireworks, Gimlet, and Neon. He leads Menlo’s widely cited research on enterprise AI adoption, including the firm’s State of Enterprise AI reports. Before Menlo, Derek worked at Bain & Company and Forbes. He graduated from Harvard, where he served as president of The Harvard Crimson.
