Diogo Caldas de Oliveira is a Machine Learning Team Lead and Data Scientist with a
Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from IST (Instituto Superior
Técnico), one of Europe's top technical universities. He brings end-to-end expertise in
machine learning, from research and model development to production deployment and
has proven experience leading technical teams and delivering complex AI projects. On the
project side, Diogo has led the full lifecycle of machine learning solutions, including data
preparation, exploratory analysis, model development, and automated deployment on
AWS SageMaker. He has worked on predictive logistics systems, applying ML to optimize
supply chain decisions such as shipment transit time forecasting and carrier selection,
delivering measurable operational value for clients. His academic background includes
research in Computer Vision and Human Pose Estimation, reflecting a strong foundation in
applied AI. He holds an AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialist certification and a Deep
Reinforcement Learning Nanodegree, and is well-versed in modern ML tooling including
TensorFlow, PyTorch, and MLflow.
