Ethan is a Partner based in Palo Alto, partnering with early-stage entrepreneurs building breakthroughs across compute, AI, and the near frontier. 

Ethan leads our focus in the American Frontier, supporting technological superiority in the US over the next 30 years, across AI superiority, semiconductor & compute advancements, energy abundance, and rapid deployment of advanced defence capabilities.

Across the American Frontier, Ethan is involved with companies across AI, compute, and defense, including Astranis, Astronomer, Atom Computing, Archetype AI, Euclid Power, Oumi, Phononic, Skyryse. 

Prior to joining Venrock, Ethan spent years as an active angel investor in frontier and deeptech companies while holding executive roles at Facebook, Box (IPO 2015), and Yahoo.

Ethan is the lead or co-lead inventor on 12 patents.
