Chief Business Officer , Equinix
Jon Lin serves as Chief Business Officer at Equinix, leading an integrated global organization focused on elevating customer experiences, delivering exceptional value, and driving profitable, sustainable expansion. He is responsible for the company’s global product strategy, overseeing the product and services portfolio roadmap, and global Profit and Loss (P&L). This includes aligning product strategy with market insights to develop new solutions that meet evolving customer needs, leading the regional execution teams, and advancing data center and hyperscale (xScale) capabilities to strengthen market leadership worldwide. He joined Equinix in 2009. Jon believes a connected world is a better world and is passionate about driving innovations that eliminate the digital divide. A catalyst for innovation, he is at the forefront of digital transformation, most recently spearheading the industry’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) transformation with the introduction of Private and Distributed AI. Jon was also an early pioneer in hybrid multi cloud connectivity, leading the development of today’s Multicloud Networking and Private Cloud Interconnect. In his 17 years with Equinix, Jon has held leadership roles across marketing, strategy, finance, product, and corporate development. Prior to his current role, he was Executive Vice President and General Manager of Data Center Services, where he led global growth and expansion, oversaw interconnected colocation and xScale, and advanced innovations in AI. He also served as President of Americas, running Equinix’s largest region by revenue. During this time, he was also responsible for the U.S. Federal sector, driving the shift from legacy platforms to digital platforms. Jon is a passionate ally for diversity, inclusion, and belonging (DI&B) and is the executive sponsor for Equinix’s Black employee connection network. Prior to Equinix, Jon held leadership roles at Tata Communications and UUNET/Verizon. Jon graduated from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in biology and computer science
