Jonathan Sampson

Sampson is a Senior Developer Relations Specialist at Brave Software, where he works closely with the Brave Search API and Brave’s broader developer ecosystem. His work spans developer adoption, tooling, and integrations, including the Brave Search MCP Server and n8n integration, while also bringing developer feedback and industry observations back into product development at Brave.

He has been with Brave since 2016 and previously served as a Program Manager at Microsoft working on the Web Platform, including browser technologies and web standards. He also contributed significantly to Brave’s early Bring Your Own Model (BYOM) support, which gives users the freedom to run local or self-hosted models and retain greater control and privacy over their data.
That work reflects a broader interest in open and interoperable AI systems, developer choice, and standards that make it easier to move between models, providers, and underlying technologies without unnecessary lock-in.
