Maya Kalyan is a Staff Algorithms and AI Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific with an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She works at the intersection of diagnostics, regulated software, and applied AI, with more than 14 years of experience in molecular diagnostics, cell-based assay analytics, algorithm verification, and FDA/IVDR-regulated product development. Her work includes data analysis and algorithm workflows for diagnostic products in infectious disease, oncology, and blood bank diagnostics. Her recent work explores how Google Cloud BigQuery and AI-assisted cloud-native analytics can support scalable multimodal data integration and biomedical intelligence for precision oncology research. She brings a practitioner’s perspective on deploying AI across enterprise healthcare and research environments, with emphasis on data governance, validation, and real-world adoption.
