Prashant Ranjan is a Principal Silicon Architect at Microsoft, where he leads the architecture of interconnect fabrics and network topologies for multiple generations of Microsoft’s in-house large-scale AI accelerator, Maia. His work focuses on scalable AI systems, high-performance interconnects, and system-level hardware–software co-design for hyperscale training and inference. Prashant actively contributes to industry standardization efforts, including UET and emerging ESUN transport protocols, helping advance open and interoperable AI networking. He is passionate about distributed systems and driving innovations that improve performance, efficiency, and cost at scale.
