Tom Emmons

Software Engineer, Arista Networks

Tom joined Arista Networks in 2011, focusing on forwarding plane software to optimize networking performance. He is currently the lead software architect for AI networking at Arista, where he consults with numerous large customers on design and optimization of massive-scale Ethernet AI fabrics for training and inference.

Tom also is Chair of the Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC) Technical Advisory Committee, and is responsible for leading the development and publication of the next UEC technical specification. He received the Strategic Leadership Award from the UEC in 2026 for his numerous contributions to the organization and the technology alike. He is also co-chair of the Ethernet Scale-Up Networking (ESUN) working group in OCP, helping extend Ethernet for use as an open standard for high-speed XPU interconnect in scale-up AI fabrics.
